HAZARIBAGH
Hazaribagh district is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state, India, and Hazaribagh town is the district capital. Hazaribagh town is also the divisional headquarters of North Chota Nagpur division. Hazaribag town is located at 23.98°N 85.35°E. It has an average elevation of 604 metres. It is famous for health resorts due to its scenic beauty, excellent climate and thickly forested area and for Hazaribagh National Park, which is 17 km away from Hazaribagh town.
The word Hazaribagh is made of two Urdu words, hazar meaning 'thousand', and bagh meaning 'garden', which makes the literal meaning of Hazaribagh as 'City of thousand gardens'. The beautiful sceneries and dense forests make Hazaribagh one of the major tourist attractions of Jharkhand.
